Uppal & Son LTD provides road haulage and logistics services including curtain sider transport, container transport, general haulage, UK distribution and commercial logistics. All services are subject to vehicle and driver availability and are operated in compliance with UK road transport legislation including the Road Haulage Association (RHA) Conditions of Carriage.
• All quotations are provided in good faith and are valid for 30 days unless otherwise stated.
• A booking is confirmed only upon written acceptance by Uppal & Son LTD.
• Prices quoted are exclusive of VAT unless otherwise stated.
• We reserve the right to adjust prices due to fuel surcharges, toll charges or other unforeseen costs with reasonable notice.
• Delivery dates and times are estimates provided in good faith and do not constitute a contractual obligation.
• We will not be liable for delays caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control including traffic, weather, road closures or mechanical failure.
• The customer is responsible for ensuring goods are adequately packaged and labelled for transport.
• Our drivers are authorised to refuse collection of goods that appear unsafe, inadequately packaged or not as described.
• Uppal & Son LTD carries goods in transit insurance. Our liability is limited to the lesser of the market value of the goods or our insurance policy limit per consignment.
• We are not liable for indirect, consequential or economic loss arising from the delay or loss of goods.
• Claims for damage or loss must be notified in writing within 3 days of delivery (or expected delivery date).
• We are not liable for any damage to goods that results from inadequate packaging by the customer.
• Our liability shall not exceed the limits set out in the RHA Conditions of Carriage 2009.
We do not transport the following without prior written agreement and appropriate documentation:
• Payment terms are agreed at the time of booking.
• Standard payment is due within 30 days of invoice date unless agreed otherwise.
• Late payments may be subject to interest under the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998.
• We reserve the right to withhold services or goods pending settlement of outstanding invoices.
• Cancellations must be made in writing with at least 24 hours notice prior to the scheduled collection time.
• Late cancellations (less than 24 hours) may be subject to a cancellation charge of up to 50% of the agreed rate.
• No-show charges may apply where a driver attends a collection that cannot proceed due to the customer.
